Dear Visitor,
Welcome to this blog.
The intention of this blog is to introduce the reader to the ubhaya vedānta tradition – a tradition that attributes equal importance to the Pancharatra school of the Vedantic system (Vishishtādvaita Philosophy) and the Dravida Veda of the āzhwārs. The articles on this website will pertain to various aspects of Srivaishnava Sampradāyam – Philosophy, Rituals and Temple worship.
Temple worship is central to the philosophy of vishishtādvaitam. Hence, adiyEn will, from time to time, share my experiences of visiting various Divya desams. In these entries, adiyEn will be not be covering the sthala purānams but will focus on the āzhwār pāsurams associated with each divya dEsam and recommend a travel itinerary.
This blog will also feature English translations of the works of Pillai Lokacharya, Manavala Mamunigal and many other acharyas who belong to the authentic school of the guru-shishya disciplic succession of Srivaishnavas that begins and ends with Sriman Narayana Himself.
This blog assumes a certain foundational knowledge of Sanskrit & Tamil vocabulary. The intention of the blog is to introduce the uninitiated into srivaishnava sampradāyam and create in them the interest to pursue a further formal-type education.
I am not an āchāryan. None of what is written here can replace the knowledge gained from formal kalakshepam/discourse type learning. This blog is not meant to be a substitute to such learning. The views/information presented herein have to be taken with a pinch of salt. If you could spot glaring factual/interpretation errors, kindly bring it to my notice and I will rectify it immediately.
Hope you find this blog useful and enriching.
